File photo from NBA Twitter<br /><br />MANILA, Philippines – It was a sad day for the NBA on Saturday, September 24, when it became official that after 21 years, former league MVP Kevin Garnett was calling it quits on his career.<br /><br />Garnett, also a former NBA champion with the Boston Celtics in 2008, immediately received praise from his co-NBA players on social media following the report.<br /><br />One of those who commended Garnett was actually a fierce rival in Kobe Bryant, who shared numerous battles with KG during the Celtics-Lakers rivalry of the late 2000’s and Minnesota-Los Angeles rivalry from the start of the century.<br /><br />“I loved every minute I competed against you. A true warrior,” Bryant tweeted.<br /><br />Like Garnett, Bryant also retired from the NBA after 20 seasons following last season. So did San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan. The departure of the 3 future hall-of-famers essentially ends one of the best generations in league history.</b><div>
