MANILA, Philippines – Japanese actress Maria Ozawa has cried foul over a Filipino immigration worker's Facebook post, with photos of Maria's passport and ID picture.
On Wednesday, September 14, Maria posted screenshots of a Facebook post by one Armee Camzon, where Maria's passport and ID picture could be seen. Armee's caption read, "I bet you know this girl."
In the comments, Armee has a conversation with a Nick D Vizcarra, first telling him that Maria was applying for a working visa and then lightheartedly criticizing Maria's looks.
Maria also posted a screenshot of Armee's Facebook profile, which said she works for the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
In her September 14 post, Maria started by saying, "I don't know if I should be mad or sad... or even post this but since it's something really wrong I would like to share it with you guys."

Maria recounted that it was a friend of hers that brought the post to her attention, as it was going viral.
Maria continued: "This is very wrong. Immigration is a place where people TRUST and give their private accounts,details and look what she's done to my privacy... Posting it on her social media. I LOVE this country and I'm doing my VERY best to stay here for good but how can I stay here for good when people like this really exist? How am I supposed to trust people?
"If this was just someone I knew or some random people posting it for fun I can understand. They are just being bastos (rude). But people who actually work in the Immigration doing stuff like this? I just cannot believe it."
"The Grab/Uber incident was bad as it is, and then this happens," said Maria, referring to a previous complaint about Grabcar or Uber drivers saving her number and sending her messages.
Armee's Facebook profile has since been deleted.
Bureau of Immigration's response
Maria's fans have since brought the incident to the BI and they responded on September 15, saying, "We are conducting an investigation with regard to this."
A few hours later, Maria's managers posted a statement on her Facebook page, saying that they are not filing a complaint against them.
"The managers of Maria Ozawa are not pursuing any legal actions. We believe that Bureau of Immigration will make the necessary actions pertaining to the matter done by one employee and is not representative of the Agency as a whole. The Management is satisfied with the statements the spokesperson of Bureau of immigration earlier released regarding the matter," their statement read.
"As a foreign artist working in the Philippines the management of Maria Ozawa believes that the Bureau of Immigration is a partner agency in the welfare of foreign nationals in the Philippines. We look forward continuously engaging them in a professional manner."
