Gordon added that the President’s repeated endorsement of the killing of drug suspects if they fight off policemen leads to a misconception that he is sanctioning the use of unnecessary violence. <br />
<br />
“Maingay ang Pangulo, sobrang ingay ng Pangulo. Tama lang na ipakita niya na galit siya sa droga pero huwag na siyang mag-ingay na ‘I will kill you,’ Hindi tama ‘yan,” Gordon said.<br />

“Kaya he is falling on his own sword, nadadapa siya sa kanyang espada dahil salita siya nang salita, napag-bibintangan tuloy ang bansa na ‘yan ang nangyayari.”<br />
<br />
[The President is too noisy. It is alright for him to show that he loathes drugs, but he shouldn’t say ‘I will kill you.’ That’s not right. He is falling on his own sword, tripping on his sword because he talks and talks so the country is accused that that’s what is happening.]<br />
<br />
But Gordon, who is leading an inquiry into the spate of extra-judicial killings under the Duterte administration, agreed with the President that other countries, especially the US, should not interfere with Manila's anti-narcotics policies.<br />
<br />
Gordon said the Western superpower has no moral superiority to investigate possible abuses against Filipino drug suspects, given its own record of rampant police killings. <br />
<br />
“One dead is one dead too many, kailangang imbestigahin pero wag sila [it should be investigated, but not by them (US)]. Let those without sin cast the first stone,” he said. <br />

Evasco said of alleged plans of Liberal Party members and some elite businessmen out to topple President Rodrigo Duterte.<br /><br />Speaking on Friday, September 30, during the induction ceremony of new officers of <a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-expert-solons-to-face-raps-if-they.html">Zamboanga del Norte United Correspondents</a> (ZNUC) – a group of local media practitioners here, Evasco said that no amount of talking would bring about destabilization. Plotters, he said, "have to have an armed component" to pursue their plans.<br /><br />"So karon, sigi silang pagkumbinsi sa military ug pulis, kini si (Senator Antonio) Trillanes (IV), nga mo-apil sa ilang kausa pagpukan ni Duterte," Evasco said. (Now, they are convincing the military and police, this <a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-expert-solons-to-face-raps-if-they.html">Senator Antonio Trillanes IV,</a> to join in their cause to topple Duterte.)<br /><br />The Cabinet secretary explained that the<a href="http://go.ad2up.com/afu.php?id=774878"> so-called elite</a> in Manila identified with the Liberal Party could not accept that they would be defeated by somebody who comes from Mindanao.<br /><br />"That's because they look down on us, they did not know that our minds were molded by our experiences, our studies, and our outlook of life that the elite don't have," Evasco said.<br /><br />He added that the elite group first tried to destroy Duterte at the grassroots level by using the media, riding on issues of summary killings, extrajudicial killings, and the burial of former president <a href="http://go.ad2up.com/afu.php?id=774878">Ferdinand Marcos.</a><br /><br />"Sad to say, there are a lot of media practitioners who succumbed to the temptation of money. And we are talking of millions of pesos here," Evasco said.<br /><br />Evasco added that plans for the coup attempt fizzled out, and the group went international, which is why, he said, American PresidentBarack Obama, United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the European Union want to investigate Duterte on human rights amid the rising number of drug-related killings in the Philippines.<br /><br />"And it was good they did it because it was an opportunity for (President) Duterte to enunciate his<a href="http://go.ad2up.com/afu.php?id=774878"> independent foreign policy,</a>" he added. "By being rich, America or the European Union or the UN have no right to tell us what is good for us. In pursuing an independent foreign policy, you must be a friend to everybody. And if the President is resisting the bullying of our supposed friend, the United States, it doesn't mean we are already aligning with the opposite, China or Russia."<br /><br />Evasco also said that those who are against Duterte are now saying he is a communist to scare people and entice the military and police to join them by engaging in armed adventurism.<br /><br />"But I want to tell you, my people in Dapitan and Zamboanga del Norte, they will fail, because anything you do – if it benefits the people – it will never be toppled down," Evasco said.<br /><br />Trillanes dismissed the allegation as "<a href="http://go.ad2up.com/afu.php?id=774878">absolutely not true</a>." He said they were "nothing but a misdirection from the political backlash the Duterte administration has been getting as a result of its bloody <a href="http://go.ad2up.com/afu.php?id=774878">war on drugs</a>."<br /><br />Trillanes also said, "President Duterte brought the crisis upon himself when he started killing his own people. It was made worse by the series of diplomatic blunders and controversial statements by the President himself."<br /><br />Evasco reminded media practitioners in<a href="http://go.ad2up.com/afu.php?id=774878"> Zamboanga del Norte </a>to be true to their chosen field of service: "The government and media have no other masters except the people. Tell the truth, defend the voiceless and the oppressed. <b>MANILA, Philippines – <a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-president-dutertes-corrected-drug.html">President Rodrigo Duterte</a> plucked a single name from his final list of suspected drug personalities and announced it in public.<br /><br />"I'll name him publicly. I heard he was ambushed somewhere. Nandito ang pangalan niya (His name is here), <a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-president-dutertes-corrected-drug.html">Judge Hector Salise</a>, Agusan del Sur," said Duterte on Friday, September 30, during a gathering of women police in Davao City.<br /><br />Salise and his driver were ambushed last September 23 while passing through a highway in Butuan City. Salise was rushed to the hospital after sustaining gun shot wounds. He was reported to have been shot in the head, and as of September 24, was in intensive care.<br /><br />Salise is known to handle illegal drugs cases in the Bayugan Regional Trial Court. He is seen as an anti-drugs advocate, supposedly because he takes a tough stance against drug suspects.<br /><br />But Duterte on Friday accused Salise of "<a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-president-dutertes-corrected-drug.html">case-fixing</a>." He also said he did not know who was behind the judge's ambush.<br /><br />"We really did not know who did it but iyan ang mahirap, if pumasok ka sa droga tapos nabayaran ka (that's what's difficult, if you get into drugs and you are paid)," said Duterte.<br /><br />Salise's name is the only name from the list which Duterte mentioned in his speech as of posting.<br /><br />As in several previous speeches, Duterte showed the thick list to the public but only teased a few names and details.<br /><br />He again said he has had it "<a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-president-dutertes-corrected-drug.html">revalidated and revalidated</a>," with the list supposedly already screened by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, military, and National Intelligence Coordination Agency.<br /><br />Duterte said his list also contains the names of two congressmen, more judges, and a lot of barangay captains and police.<br /><br />Apology for mistake<br /><br />Recently, Duterte <a href="http://todaysupdateph.blogspot.com/2016/09/look-president-dutertes-corrected-drug.html">apologized</a> for tagging former Pangasinan Governor and now representative Amado Espino Jr as being involved in the drug trade.<br /><br />He said then, "Insofar as the drugs, I think that somehow we were negligent in counterchecking in the first report." <b>Aguirre said the two witnesses would testify in connection with the December 2014 raid in the NBP where 19 high profile inmates were isolated and transferred to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).</b></div>

<b><br />The Justice Secretary revealed that he had received a report from these "sources" Monday night, which disclosed that some P298.4 million seized from the raid on December 15, 2014 were unaccounted.<br /><br />The witnesses claimed that more than P300 million cash were confiscated during the raid but the Bureau of Corrections (Bucor) declared only P1.6 million.<br /><br />"December 15, 2014 nagkaron ng galugad, nakareport sa dyaryo P1.6 million ang nakuhang pera pero sabi ng mga testigo they were able to get more than P300 million pero ang dineclare lang nila P1.6 million," Aguirre said.<br /><br />He said that these witnesses were present during the raid in the maximum security compound where reportedly P1.6 million cash, inflatable sex dolls, shabu, and expensive prohibited items such as Rolex watches and television sets were seized.<br /><br />Also discovered in the raid were the luxury villas or kubols, which house the richest and most influential drug convicts inside the Bilibid.<br /><br />When asked whether these witnesses have already executed their affidavits, Aguirre said, "Hindi pa nadedetalye. Wala pang affidavit pero meron nang report."<br /><br />Aside from the two, Aguirre also said that Joenel Sanchez, the former security aide of de Lima, will also testify before the House committee on justice to substantiate the alleged illicit affair of de Lima and her former driver and bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan.<br /><br />Aguirre said former Bucor chief Franklin Bucayu has sent "feelers" to him but has not confirmed yet if he will attend the next hearing on October 5.<br /><br /><br /><br /></b><h3>
